Hunting: Trail Camera Photos (Fall 2020) Just Bucks

We have a lot to add to the blog, but we have been super busy.  We have completed a ton of projects and I will be uploading progress posts soon.  We are still having a ball and trying to stay safe from COVID,  as I hope you all are too. BUT!!!!!!!! You have to check out these trail cam photos!!!!  These are just some of the bucks.  We have over 1500 photos of deer in just a couple of weeks.  We are stocked!  Haiden is about to give it his first attempt on Youth Weekend, this Saturday and Sunday.  I'll  keep you posted.  Wish him luck! I included a couple of our stands and a shot or two of the hinting blind we have out.  Photo Gallery

Heidi's first US Kids Golf Tournament 08/30/20

Heidi not only had her first competition ever, but her first US Kids Golf tournament!! I don't want to sound conceitedly biased, but my kids are the freaking best! Heidi's attitude and demeanor the entire time was her typical bouncy happy self and that made me super happy because I don't want anything they do as entertainment to ever become so serious that its no longer fun. Let me tell you though, Heidi showed up at the Fox Den golf course to PLAY SOME FREAKIN GOLF!! she played the best game she has EVER played. She swung those clubs like she has been doing this way longer than March. She finished with a 58 on 9 holes, coming in second to a little girl who has been doing this for 2 years and finished with a 56. 3 strokes behind a girl who has been doing this for 2 years. Jay did fantastic as her caddy, giving advise when needed, but mostly letting her just play her game and have fun. As you can hear in the background of the video I was a freaking mess of anxiet...

Haiden's 1st "official" middle school match

The way Haiden's middle school league works is each team only sends 6 players to away matches, so the home team can only compete as many players that the away team sends. The rest of the kids on the home team play a practice round with each other. This was Haiden's first actual recorded match where he was paired up with one of his team mates and one team member of the other team. And as yall already know, he did AMAZING!! He got his very first par EVER  on the very first hole too! Thats why in the first part of the video he puts his hand to his mouth...he knew if he made that next putt, it was par. He also played his best game finishing with a 62. Its awesome watching him out there with kids his age and the focus he has and the strategy he works through on each hole. I'm super proud of his progress and his hard work put forth to continue to improve!! Video

Haiden's 1st Middle School Golf Match

We're behind on posts. We have a ton of catching up to do, but this is pretty exciting.   When the quarantine first kicked off and the kid’s schools shut down, Jay and I bought golf clubs for everyone at the house just to get us outside and have some entertainment.  Pretty quickly, Jay started getting more involved in the game, going to the local golf course and even getting a golf simulator for the house.  Haiden and Heidi (especially Haiden, initially) started showing more interest than just hitting balls in the backyard.  Jay and Haiden spent several hours at the course, on the simulator, and on youtube, trying to learn, as well as improve their games.  When we started to move to the new house in June, golf got put on the back burner due to the lack of time to do anything fun.  Finally in July there was some extra time and once again Jay, Haiden, and Heidi found themselves on the simulator and at the course.   As I was registering th...

Pressure Washed the Front - Ripped Out the Rest of those Ferns

I don't ever want to see another fern.  They were tucked in there so tight it was a pain.  I think someone planted a couple and they just took over.   We did the initial pressure washing of the front.  I'm gonna take care of the rest on other days.  Its starting to look really good.  The previous owners didn't do anything.  They were the second owners (for a very short time...DRAMA!), but we are fortunate that the original owners took good care of it.                                                                                   Video

Opening Up Our Space: Bye Bye Pines (video)

When we saw the house back in March, we loved it, BUT...we hated all the pines in the main yard.   Our plan was to have them removed in sections.  We didn't exactly stick to the plan.  Here are some photos of the house/pines during our second visit (pre-offer).
